JaK Studio
Sector: Architecture & Interiors
Our work with award-winning architecture practice JaK Studio focuses on telling the intriguing stories behind their distinctive, often quirky work, and instilling all press communications with a sense of their progressive approach to design.
Some of the projects we have secured coverage for include their imaginative 'Spyglass beach hut' for Eastbourne seafront, the RIBA commissioned Listening Project Booth for BBC Radio 4, Villa Brash in Saint Tropez, and London’s first ‘Invisible House’, which resulted in over a dozen new business enquiries in response to our PR activities.
More recently in 2020, in response to global lockdown measures resulting from coronavirus, JaK Studio reimagined the classic ‘L’ shaped sofa, designed to transform into a multi purpose piece of furniture that transforms into a working pod or a sofa bed.
The lockdown made remote working the norm for most, with many individuals living in dense urban environments confined to their homes for an extended period of time. People have had to adapt their homes to create makeshift offices, schools or gyms and require more flexibility than ever before from their furniture and spaces. Designed to look like the classic piece of furniture, the L20 sofa concept would use the simple mechanism of a quick release system and sliding rails to convert into a private study, meeting pod, or quiet space in two easy motions. JaK Studio are looking for a commercial partner to mass produce the prototyped design and have pledged all profits from the design rights to the Architects Benevolent Fund. The project received a wide mix of press coverage including Dezeen, On Office and The Metro.
