Panasonic Design

Sector: Design Innovation & Technology

As part of TDC’s ongoing partnership with Panasonic Design, we provide a blended package of support comprising communications strategy, partnerships and networking management, international media engagement and press office as well as social media and thought leadership.

2018 saw TDC support Panasonic’s presence at Milan Design Week providing an integrated communications programme to showcase Panasonic’s landmark award-winning ‘Transitions’ installation at Pinacoteca de Brera. As well as managing press engagement and social media, TDC also designed and ran a series of Panasonic Design ‘In Conversation’ events with key influencers exploring transitions in culture, technology and living spaces.

Also in 2018, we delivered a headline partnership for Panasonic Design with the London Design Biennale to exhibit beautifully crafted design, whilst engaging in the events theme of ‘Emotional States’.

In 2019, Panasonic were once again present at Milan Design Week, this time unveiling Vitrine, a transparent OLED screen. The prototype was the result of a two-year conceptual collaboration by Panasonic and Vitra, based on an exchange of ideas about how new technologies can seamlessly integrate audio-visual devices into our living spaces. TDC planned and executed a communications programme to launch Vitrine and position the Vitra & Daniel Rybakken collaboration as part of the wider Panasonic Design narrative.

Another highlight of 2019 was Panasonic Design’s involvement with IFA in Berlin, the world's leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances. At the 2019 event Panasonic Design explored the intersection between home, wellbeing and technology with the launch of a collection of intuitive product concepts bringing to life a new philosophy called ‘Balance of Being’.

The collection of near-future design concepts was the result of a collaborative research and development project between Panasonic Design and Panasonic’s engineering teams. The concepts sensitively combined emerging technology with sophisticated experience design and explored how we can have more meaningful engagements with products in how we take care of ourselves.
